The wrath of Harimau Malaya

Malaysia 2 - Indonesia 0

It was pure pleasure watching the dismantled Indonesian team went home, eliminated by our national team. In this side of the world, our rivalry could be as volatile as Egypt - Algeria african derby. But tonight, the team showed greater togetherness, unity and hard work to achieve the badly needed 3 points. And we successfully did that, as the result shows that our football are better than them for the past 3 years.

Strong 70,000 home support gave Malaysia extra injection in term of energy level produced on the pitch. Safiq Rahim showed some improvement by making great effort in chasing loose ball, something he rarely do in the past.

The much questioned Wan Zack Haikal answered his critics by performed brilliantly alongside Man Of The Match Mahali Jasuli on the right flank.

Zubir Azmi did well containing Andik Vermansyah's threat for the entire game, Fadhli Shas consistency remind me of Italy's Andrea Barzagli, While Azamuddin Akil repay his coach's faith by scoring the opener.

But i am still not happy with Safee Sali's performance. Sometimes looked rusty, sometimes looked playfull, and my concern was that he is loosing the predatory instinct in the six yard box. Nurshahrul Idlan's determination was still not enough to justify his Most Valuable Player tag so far.

The players and Malaysian fans deserved to celebrate this victory for at least 24 hours, before they need to focus on semi final clash against Thailand. After all of the provocations by Indonesian supporter's, this sweet victory is the best way to silent the garudas. Garuda have received the backlash from the wrath of HARIMAU MALAYA!
